People Person: Documentaries by Jeanie Finlay

Graced with immense empathy and respect for those who go their own way, Jeanie Finlay’s intimate documentaries tell richly emotional stories of outsiders, artists, and everyday eccentrics who defy convention. Refusing to exploit her subjects, she finds tender human comedy and drama in stories of personal transformation, from the legend of the masked singer who may have been the second coming of Elvis ( Orion: The Man Who Would Be King ) to the journey of a pregnant transgender man ( Seahorse: The Dad Who Gave Birth ).
