Adapted by Clowes from his own graphic work, the cult classics Ghost World and Art School Confidential capture the awkwardness, melancholy, and absurdity of youth with dark, deadpan humor and a refreshingly cynical edge, seamlessly making the leap from page to screen through Zwigoff’s idiosyncratic direction.
