Synopsis
One of director Walerian Borowczyk’s most haunting and psychologically complex films, LA MARGE (“The Margin”) stars Joe Dallesandro as Sigismond, a happily married businessman who embarks on an intense affair with a sex worker (Sylvia Kristel of EMMANUELLE fame) while on a business trip to Paris. When he receives devastating news from back home, Sigismond throws himself further into a sordid world of sex, grief, and obsession. Borowczyk conjures gorgeous, dreamlike images set to an evocative soundtrack that includes Elton John, Pink Floyd, 10cc, and Chopin.
