School on Fire

One of director Ringo Lam’s most potent works, this startling, unsparingly gritty vision of innocence lost completes the director’s “On Fire” series (CITY ON FIRE, PRISON ON FIRE) with perhaps his most searing statement on systemic corruption. After witnessing a brutal gangland beating, a young schoolgirl (Fennie Yuen) testifies against the triad responsible—only to find herself targeted by the underworld in a shocking cycle of extortion and exploitation.
