The Deal

An unusually dense and detailed insider’s view of corporate corruption distinguishes this twisty boardroom thriller. In a near future where an energy crisis has pushed oil prices to astronomical highs, the ruthless CEO (Robert Loggia) of Condor Oil and Gas plots the multibillion dollar takeover of a Russian oil cartel. Hired to broker the deal is Tom Hanson (Christian Slater), a Wall Street analyst who stands to make a killing from the merger. But the more Hanson learns about the deal the more he begins to suspect that something is amiss—and that he and his newly hired associate (Selma Blair) may be at the heart of a dangerous conspiracy.
