Carlito’s Way

Ten years after SCARFACE, director Brian De Palma and star Al Pacino reunited for another bravura crime drama exploding with stylish set pieces and sizzling performances. Pacino brings his trademark intensity to the role of Carlito Brigante, a Nuyorican career criminal who, after he’s freed from prison on a technicality, finds himself with an unexpected chance to turn his life around. But will the world let him go straight? In one of his most memorable performances, a scene-stealing Sean Penn costars as Brigante’s sleazy, coke-fiend lawyer.
