Felicia’s Journey

Atom Egoyan’s haunting adaptation of the novel by William Trevor is a Hitchcockian psychological thriller that swirls around the filmmaker’s signature themes of fate and loss. Felicia (Elaine Cassidy) is a naive young Irish woman who travels to Birmingham, England, in search of her lost lover. Joseph Hilditch (Bob Hoskins, in a performance of unnerving control) is the eccentric, past-obsessed manager of a catering company who takes her under his wing—and who is concealing a sinister secret.
