Ari Aster received his MFA in Directing from the AFI Conservatory. He has written and directed several short films, including The Strange Thing About the Johnsons (2011), Munchausen (2013), and Basically (2014). His films have played the New York Film Festival, Fantastic Fest, Slamdance, and many others. Hereditary, now in theaters, is his first feature film.
