Synopsis

The rare sequel to arguably surpass its predecessor, this second installment in producer Tsui Hark’s SWORDSMAN trilogy is a breathtakingly imaginative blend of supernatural fantasy, thrilling martial-arts choreography, and gender-bending romance. This time, Jet Li steps into the role of the pure-hearted Ming-era swordsman Linghu Chong, who falls dangerously in love with cult leader Dongfang Bubai (Brigitte Lin in a sensationally villainous performance)—a rival martial-arts master who has undergone a radical transformation in pursuit of ultimate power.
